2014 Memorial Day (Real Estate Closing Advice)

Good news! All the Clerk’s Offices, Banks and Attorney’s Offices will be closed on Monday, May 26 for Memorial Day (is summer really here?).

Remember, all closings which need to occur before Memorial Day should be completed by Friday, May 23. The Clerk’s Offices stop recording around 4 PM on Friday afternoon. Accordingly, all closings need to happen on Thursday, May 22, or at the latest, early in the morning on Friday, May 23. Any closings not completed on Friday can be recorded on Tuesday, May 27.

May 31, the last day of the month, falls on a Saturday. After Memorial Day, though, there will still be four days left in May to complete May closings. We all need to work together to make sure that the end of May closings are completed as smoothly as possible, with everyone able to move in according to their plans.

Have a Great Memorial Day!
